Keith Smith: "I joined SLADE art union (Society of Lithographers, Artists, Designers and Engravers) in 1980 and started a 4 year apprenticeship as a Commercial Artist, working in Liverpool. During this time I attended Art School and studied life drawing, painting and art history.
I have since worked as an illustrator, photo retoucher, graphic designer, typographer, and also graphics studio manager in advertising agencies before starting my own studio and eventually I formed an advertising agency. In recent years I've devoted more time to drawing, painting and illustration. I use many different mediums but have been concentrating on watercolours. I've always lived in Liverpool, it's a great city and I try to capture the feel of my favourite areas of the city in my work.
My paintings are regularly exhibited in Liverpool, they have been published in several magazines and I've also produced a calendar for Liverpool 2010 which features 12 new paintings of local scenes. I've sold work both in this country and as far afield as the United Arab Emirates."
